WHAT'S INCLUDED in the $ 950:
Professional Service of Funeral Director and Staff.
Staff and equipment required for the transfer of the Deceased from the place of passing to our Crematorium, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
Use of all Automotive Equipment such as the transfer vehicle from place of death and to crematorium. Also includes the use of a service vehicle to transport and retrieve legal documents from the Doctor or the State.
The use of our refrigeration unit, as required by law, from day one until the cremation. (No extra fee's are charged for over 3 days of use)
The arrangement conference between a Licensed Funeral Director and the family held at our facility during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
The filing of the Death Certificate and the Cremation Permit with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the county where the death occurred.
The filing of Veterans documents with the Commonwealth. (If applicable)
Notification of Social Security with an explanation of benefits available to you and Social Security contact phone numbers.
Assistance with filing of life insurance policies. (If applicable)
Applying for and obtaining certified copies of the death certificate for you.
Formatting and forwarding of an obituary, completed by you, to the newspaper(s) of your choice. Obituaries must be emailed to us.
Posting of the obituary on our website and Facebook page, unless otherwise noted. There is no charge to you to post the obituary on our website or Facebook page. We would be happy to do so. You may also add one or two pictures of the Deceased to accompany the obituary.
Obtaining legal documents (Death Certificate) from your Doctor and the Register's Office in the county where the death occurred.
Placement of the Cremated Remains into a permanent or biodegradable urn, unless another is selected. (Urn price included)
Notification of the family member in charge when the Cremated Remains will be available to be received at our office during normal business hours.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED in the $ 950:
Required - The Medical Examiner Fee in the County where the Death Occurred. (Berks County charges $ 50. Each county has a different charge.)
Required - The use of the Crematorium. $ 495. An additional charge will apply for any Deceased weighing over 275 lbs.
(If Desired) Certified Copies of the Death Certificate. (The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania charges $ 20. per copy.)
(If Desired) The cost of an obituary in the newspaper(s) of your choice. You are not required by law to publish an obituary. The Reading Eagle has a minimum charge of $ 400. with additional fees for obituaries that extend beyond four inches in length.
Additional mileage charge ($ 2.50 per mile) to transfer a Deceased from the place of their death to our facility if over 25 miles away.
Addition charge ($ 100.) for extra staff and personal to remove and transfer a Deceased if they pass away in a home.
- We are a Direct Cremation Provider. We only perform the Cremation. We do not plan or coordinate funeral services and we do not offer an option for a private family only viewing prior to the Cremation. If desired, please make provisions to do so at the hospital or nursing home prior to us arriving.
- We do not cremate family pets.
