Anna Mae Fisher Obituary

Anna Mae Fisher,  passed away peacefully at home, on April 13, 2025 at the age of 88 joining her husband Gene Raymond Fisher.  She had an infectious laugh and smile and will be missed.

She was born on January26, 1937 to Herbert and Emma Bashore. She grew up and lived mostly in Northwestern Berks County PA.  And was a long-time resident of Rehrersburg, PA

She married her husband Gene on June 7, 1959, together they had 4children: Cindy (Jeff) Bollinger, Randy (Wendy) Fisher, Steve (Sandy) Fisher and Darlene (Frank) Deesing. Anna Mae enjoyed the company of her family and being grandma to 9 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.

The matriarch of the family, Anna Mae ran the household and was a good Pa Dutch cook.  She had a wide repertoire of homemade dinner favorites to feed the family.  She always was preparing covered dishes, cakes, pies or dessert puddings for family get togethers.  She had the chauffeur job to get all the kids to our various sports and other commitments.  She instilled in the family the hard work ethic, accountability and kindness she grew up with.

She enjoyed the outdoors, accompanying her husband fishing and camping.  Their summer vacations always included family camping at numerous PA State Parks where much of the days were spent canoeing and fishing for Largemouth Bass. She especially enjoyed camping with a large extended family and friends every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends at Uncle Ray and Sandra’s woods.

For entertainment Anna Mae liked occasionally playing the slots at multiple casinos or enjoying long sessions of Pinochle and other card games,  Dominos and 5 in a row.  She also was a reader and passed the time doing jigsaw, word search and Sudoku puzzles.  She loved flowers and grew both indoor and outdoor flowers.

Anna Mae’s life will be celebrated on April19, 2025, with a memorial service at the Salem Reformed Church in Bethel PA, starting at 11 am and with an interment of her ashes following the service.
