Dawn Speraw Obituary

Dawn Speraw, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, in Reading, Pennsylvania, at the age of 66. Born on December 1, 1957, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Calvin P, and June Leininger Brown.

Dawn's warm spirit and selfless nature touched the lives of all who knew her.  Dawn spent her formative years in the halls of Northern Lebanon High School, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and a sense of community that would follow her throughout her life. Her career as a dedicated waitress and bartender allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life, a testament to her love for conversation and her innate ability to make everyone around her feel at home.  Her personal life was marked by a profound love for her family.

Dawn's heart belonged to her fiancé of 24 years, Randy Kobylakiewicz, with whom she shared a life filled with laughter and cherished moments. She was the proud and loving mother to Jesse Brown and his wife Crystal, Mark Hayes Jr and his wife Beth, and Laurie Hayes Frey and her husband Irvin. Dawn's legacy continues through her children and the beautiful family they have raised.  A beloved grandmother, Dawn's joy was multiplied with the birth of each grandchild. Irvin IV, Zachary, and Trey Frey; Alexis Cruz; Sabrina, Mark III, Jacob, and Cassidy Hayes; and Samantha Brown were the lights of her life. She embraced every moment with them, from the smallest achievements to the grandest celebrations. Dawn's great-grandchildren, Noah Guerrero Frey, Adriel Dealba, and Allison Frey, added a new layer of happiness to her life, and she cherished the time she spent with them.  Survived by her sisters, Kay Leedy and her husband Terry, and Star Mader, her sister in law’s Missy Kobylakiewicz, and Aileen Wiggins, and her brother in law Steven Kobylakiewicz and his companion Diane.

Dawn's nurturing presence will be profoundly missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love within her extended family, including several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Lacey Hayes, her sisters Debra J. Brown and Linda L. Brown, and her beloved fur baby, Sadie, who no doubt was waiting to greet her at the Rainbow Bridge.

Dawn's interests reflected her zest for life and her appreciation for the simple pleasures. Her love for animals was unmatched, particularly for her cherished dog, Sadie. Dawn found joy in playing bingo, the thrill of the casino, and the excitement of revealing a winning scratch-off ticket. These pastimes were more than hobbies; they were avenues through which she connected with friends, celebrated life, and shared her generous spirit.  Those who knew Dawn would describe her as loving, generous, and selfless. Her actions spoke louder than words, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own. She approached life with an open heart and an open door, always ready to offer support or a listening ear.  Dawn Speraw's legacy is one of kindness, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared by those who loved her and in the profound impact she had on her community.  As we say goodbye to Dawn, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and selfless acts of kindness.  Rest in peace, Mom, Your love will continue to guide us, and your memory will forever be a part of who we are.
