Obituary

William Elder, of Wernersville, passed away on March 8, 2023 at home.

He Born on September 3, 1944 to Margaret (Sherry) and Blaine Elder Knox, PA.  After Bill graduated from Knox High School in 1962, he want on to attend Pennsylvania State University.

Bill dedicated his career to the service of youth and juveniles. He began at Youth Forestry Camp #3 where he started as a counselor and became Director.  After 25 years, he moved to the Office of Specialist.  

In 1967, Bill married Catherine Sharer and they had two children, Todd and Heather.

In 2004, Bill retired and spent his time, reading, fishing, singing with the Pretzel City Chorus and enjoyed time with his family.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard.  He is survived by his children, Todd (Dawn) Elder and Heather (John) McCracken; grandchildren, Breckenridge Elder, Gabriella McCracken and Ava McCracken; sister Suzanne (Joseph) Seem; Niece and Nephews, Joyce Elder, Steven (Lissa) Seem and Richard Elder.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
